As we approach Easter, I am reminded over and over that Jesus didn’t deserve the cross. Jesus did nothing to warrant the punishment, the torture, the death.
God can do anything, you know—far more than you could ever imagine or guess or request in your wildest dreams! He does it not by pushing us around but by working within us, his Spirit deeply and gently within us. Ephesians 3:20-21 MSG

Do we place God where He belongs? Do we give him the importance due Him? Are we explaining to our kids who He really is? Do we even understand who we’re talking to? I wonder if we have any idea what we’re dealing with?
Is it more important to trust in God or to be right about God?
When was the last time a fight brought out the good in anyone? When was the last time virtue was seen through angry words, or humility was shown in rage? These concepts are at odds with each other.
Do we live our lives in such a way that others know the power of our God? If we live our lives the way God wants us to; in total obedience, in absolute humility and in constant love, the people we are near will take notice. Our co-workers will see that we are fair and hard working. The clerk at the grocery store will see we are honest when an item doesn’t scan. Our neighbors will see compassion when we help the widow who lives on the corner.
Think about this for a moment. In daily life, what are the things that grab our attention? Look around. The large, brightly colored objects are the ones that stick out. The louder the sound, the quicker we turn our heads. The things of the world are full of bright lights, loud, in your face sounds, with the purpose of drawing us in, enveloping us in the loudness so that we drown out the sound of God.
I saw the craziest thing on the faces of the hungry children in Haiti. Hope. I saw hope in their eyes and hope in their smiles as the walked with us and talked with us and shared with us. These children, who were most likely going to share the sandwich we gave them with their entire family, looked at us as if they knew we could make a difference in their lives.
