Food, clothes and shelter are things believers should not dwell on, should not be overly concerned about, according to Jesus. Seek first the kingdom and these necessities will be taken care of. However, I also think that, used more broadly, this thinking could apply to every facet of our lives.
Do we ask God for permission to do our mundane tasks? Do we ask God if it’s ok if we drive the kids to school, if it’s ok if we make eggs for breakfast, if it’s ok to go to that meeting? Do we ask God to intervene in the small things; the fight with the spouse, the phone call from the teacher, the pet’s bum leg?
