For now, we have come full circle and the rule, the laws, the covenants that became a tie that bound, now has become pure folklore. Something to consider, or, not even that if it doesn’t suit our fancy. Just words of an ancient text.
God’s good word says over and over to shhh… Our words, so easily become the speech of fools. Why is it so hard?
…. I found this article and it is so interesting…. here then read the devotion… I Can’t Take it Much Longer. ”What am I doing in the meantime, Lord? Hoping, that’s what I’m doing—hoping You’ll save me from a rebel life, save me from the contempt of dunces. I’ll say no more, I’ll shut my mouth, since [...]
But you’ll welcome us with open arms when we run for cover to you. Let the party last all night! Stand guard over our celebration. You are famous, God, for welcoming God-seekers, for decking us out in delight. Psalm 5:11-12 MSG
Have you ever been rescued by God? Have you ever been on the [...]
Do we place God where He belongs? Do we give him the importance due Him? Are we explaining to our kids who He really is? Do we even understand who we’re talking to? I wonder if we have any idea what we’re dealing with?
Who made the stars? Who started the planets spinning into the perfectly orchestrated moves they now dance? From where did the very first drop of water come?
“And there were shepherds living out in the fields nearby, keeping watch over their flocks at night. An angel of the Lord appeared to them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were terrified.” (Luke 2:8-9 NIV)

Fear Him? It sounds so frightful; it sounds so harsh. Isn’t he supposed to be a loving and gracious God? Yes, but he is also Mighty, Awesome, Magnificent. The fear we should have for the Lord is much like the fear a young child has of his parents. The child is not actually afraid of his parents, but afraid of disappointing them, afraid of them seeing him do wrong. It is that kind of fear, with a reverence in understanding that we can never truly understand how little we really understand that keeps us in awe of God.
Sometimes, we need to praise God for who He is. A clear crisp night when the starts are visible is a perfect example. Spend some time gazing at the stars. Feel infinitesimal; it’s good for the soul.
