Why the fate of the world rests on the covenant of marriage
Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away, and there was no longer any sea. I saw the Holy City, the new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride beautifully dressed for her husband. Revelation 21:1-2 NIV
The book of life, the bible, begins and ends with marriage.
The bible is a love story. It’s a story of Truth, told by the Creator of Truth, about his love for us and the path home. The bible is our yellow-brick-road back to God’s open arms.
All we have to do is read it. and do it.
The very first human interaction in the bible is the creation and union of Adam and Eve. The very last is the final union; the union of Jesus to his people. Everything in between is God showing us the way home, showing us what to do and how to do it so that in the end, we are there with Jesus in heaven.
Life is one big love story. That’s all life is about: love. If that makes you sad, or ill-content, then the world has too tight a hold on your heart. The Truth is, everything we do, everything we say, every anything should revolve around love.
Sadly, it’s not an easy concept to grasp. The world makes hate and envy and scorn so easy, so palatable, so normal, that we think we’re entitled to these feelings.
We are only entitled to love.
So, as hard as it is, it’s time to retire the cranky-pants.
It’s time to show Jesus through our every day actions, not through or church.
Let them see Jesus shine in you, let them see the love that the world has choked out. It’s the only way.
Jesus is coming, that much we know. Lord God. help us see love first. Help us show love first. Let it start in my marriage God and help me spread it to every inch of my life.
