My God is a God of second chances…is yours?
The God I serve, the God of the universe, the God who created creation from nothing, the same God who named the stars, knows my name. This same infinite God knows the infinitesimal thoughts of my heart. Part of the magnificence of God is that he can be that big and that small, all at the same time.
But this God, this God who knows my broken heart yet still loves me, this is a God of second chances who doesn’t waste any lesson, any incident, any trial to show me how much he loves me. He uses all of my life for his glory, not leaving anything for the vultures to devour. He takes the good, the bad, the hurt and the happiness and he molds it into his glory. Every lesson learned, every tear shed, every battle won, all are done to the credit of Jesus.
Does the God you serve show you grace? Does he whisper to you, begging you to reach for his hand when no one else’s is extended to you? Or are you still so consumed with blame, with status and credit that you can’t see past the pain to see the glory.
The God of second chances is waiting for you, just like he waited for me. Grace is offered to all who call upon the name of Jesus. All we have to do is ask for it; ask for the forgiveness that can only come from God, and grab hold of Jesus’s hand.
Father, you rescue me time and time again. Every time I fall, I fear I disappoint you, but your grace covers all my sin, and as I ask for forgiveness, you grant it to me without question, without guilt, making me blameless in your site once again.
