Why is it always the hard stuff? How in the world are we supposed to not worry about feeding our families? How are we supposed to not worry about providing enough for them so our children are warm in the winter? But isn’t that exactly what Jesus says? Sigh…
Were you able to take some time, be alone and quiet and listen for God to speak to you or were you totally and completely consumed with your to-do list that Christmas came and went and you didn’t even notice that you didn’t notice?
If you know me, you know that ‘chaos’ – in any form – is my evil arch enemy. I don’t like chaos of any kind. I don’t like unorganized anything, I don’t like the feeling chaos gives me of being out of control.
Explaining the hope of Jesus should light up our faces and bring a definite and noticeable change. If we believe there is no greater hope, we should act like it when we’re talking about it.
God’s good word says over and over to shhh… Our words, so easily become the speech of fools. Why is it so hard?
Worship is powerful….. if you mean it. Otherwise, they are mere words on a screen, set to a beat and a strum, useless, powerless, meaningless. Do you mean the words you sing?
The word I keep coming across is “we” – and I am filled with this sense of unity this morning. In the midst of tragedy, I see people converging (on Facebook) from all over the country to reach out, as a body, to this family. I see, in this moment, how the church is supposed to work.
