If God hadn’t been there for me, I never would have made it. The minute I said, “I’m slipping, I’m falling,” your love, God, took hold and held me fast. When I was upset and beside myself, you calmed me down and cheered me up. Psalm 94:17-19 MSG

Are you one of those people? I used to be one, so it’s ok for me to ask. Are you one of those people who not only sees the glass half empty, but worries about the content of the half glass, whether or not its safe to drink and how long it will be until there is a refill? Do you think about the glass and whether or not it has a chip in it, and if it does, will it cut your lip? Do you complain about the size of the glass, and that it is not big enough to only be filled half way, especially since you super-sized it? Do you get angry because the person sitting next to you has more in their glass? Does it make you angry that you were slighted out of your fair share?

It’s exhausting, isn’t it? And, you missed the best part: the flavor.

Life is flavor if you allow it to be.

But can you? Can you allow yourself to live in the moment and be thankful for what you have instead of bitter for what you think you deserve? Can you enjoy the time you have with your family instead of using that time to complain about the things that happen when you’re not together? Can you give yourself totally to this moment so, regardless of the level in your cup, the time you spend is intentional and therefore meaningful?

Because a full glass is meaningless if you spend it worrying or complaining or arguing about the amount in the glass or the contents of the glass or the shape of the glass or the……

you get the idea.

it’s exhausting… so stop it already. :)

We never get this moment back. That one, yeah it’s gone already.

so is that one…

oops, there goes another.

And they never ever come back. So use them wisely. Lovingly. Intentionally. Positively.

God, thank you for opening my eyes and letting me realize how negative I have been. Thank you Lord for changing me one day at a time. I pray that I can continue to find the purpose in every moment and live it because I never get it back.
