After looking at the way things are on this earth, here’s what I’ve decided is the best way to live: Take care of yourself, have a good time, and make the most of whatever job you have for as long as God gives you life. And that’s about it. That’s the human lot. Yes, we should make the most of what God gives, both the bounty and the capacity to enjoy it, accepting what’s given and delighting in the work. It’s God’s gift! God deals out joy in the present, the now. It’s useless to brood over how long we might live. Ecclesiastes 5:18-20 MSG

God gave us joy. He gave us happiness and love and laughter. He gave us the ability to giggle, to smile, to cheer and to clap. God gave us the ability, the inclination and the permission to delight… in life and in others.

So, why don’t we?

Why do we, those who live in Christ, walk around in misery….ever? Why do we allow ourselves to feel beaten down, discouraged, failed? We’ve won!

If we concentrated on the fact that we’ve already won, the fact that Satan has no power over us, the fact that Jesus shines through us, where would despair reside? If we really, really lived by the words we sing, why would we waste one day, one hour, feeling sorry for ourselves?

Take each day that God allows us and live it, actually live it. What good are we to God if we exude misery and sadness? Why would anyone want our God if what they see in our own lives is apathy? How can anyone see the hope Christ offers, if they don’t see it in us?

Live!…..don’t exist… Do it for God, even when it’s hard.

This is harder than it sounds God. Life can seem so overwhelming sometimes. But I live redeemed. I live a daughter of the King, and that outweighs anything this world throws at me. You gave me joy, and I want to live my life in it, showing others who you are through it.
