“Carry each other’s burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ.” (Galatians 6:2 NIV)

We all have our share of bad days. We all wake up grumpy one morning. At some point, all of us have burdens that feel light anvils on our chest.  Some days, our burdens are so heavy, it’s hard to breathe.

That’s when our brothers and sisters in Christ are to come up beside us and help us carry our burdens. We are called to not only be a light unto the world, but to each other as well.  Seeing a fellow Christian struggle should send a flock of us to their rescue.

Even if it’s an obstacle that appears insurmountable – even if the cancer is back – even if the spouse left – even if the job is gone – even if they lost their house – even if….. we can still help them stand. We can still let them lean upon our strength and fill themselves from our love. We can’t fix their problems, but that doesn’t mean we should leave them alone and abandoned to fight their fight without reinforcements.

So, when you find a Christian in trouble – a Christian in doubt – a Christian with burdens, come up beside them and help them stand. Help them through.

Lord, there are so many of my brothers and sisters carrying burdens today. My prayer Lord is that you let me be a light in their lives so they know they are not alone.
