“Endure hardship with us like a good soldier of Christ Jesus.” (2 Timothy 2:3 NIV)

It’s easy to look at our culture and the state of despair all around and realize that something has happened. The children who will one day lead this nation are falling away from the church and from a God who loves them.  They have abandoned the basic principals of common courtesy in exchange for a deep-rooted need for instant gratification. Anyone who does not believe that we are in a battle, a war for our lives, is very mistaken.  A war is being waged for our souls and the souls of our children every single day.

The war is being waged against our children and we are not winning. It is estimated that over 90% of children leave the church when they leave home. That is a staggering number.  Is it because they are being swayed by a culture that has no room for God or are they being pushed away by a religion who long ago stopped listening for God’s direction and began to debate the authenticity of His word?

The generation growing into adults wants truth, especially about God and in the absence of truth, they will chose the world. We, as the leaders of the church that is left, need to get back to the bible and stop fighting amongst ourselves. We need to accept that it is the word of God and that it is real and that it is true. Once we belive that it is true, we have to implement it’s teachings into our every-single-daily lives. Once we do that, we can begin to reach out to the generation we have completely failed. If they don’t see us living it, why would they want our God?

Lord I pray that you raise up mighty leaders in our church and that you stir the hearts of the people who claim you as their King so that they begin to live lives that reflect it. God I pray that the way I live my life will bring one teenager to surrender to you.
